As long as Palin keeps wearing short skirts and manages her weight do you think her supporters really care if she wrote her talking points on her hand? Those that paid money to hear her peculiar style of prose knew they weren’t getting Einstein when they paid $500 a head to attend.

On the Sunday morning talk shows, the White House floated the idea of possible triggers which would enact a public option if not met after 4-5 years. The thought, as I understand it, would be to set certain measurable criteria over the next few years. If the measures weren’t made and changes not made a public option would be put in place. At this time we don’t know what the expected changes would be or how they would be objectively measured but I’m interesting in hearing what your initial response to the idea is. Let’s hear it!
All opinions welcomed.

Storms ravaged Minneapolis today. Below are photos of some of the damage near my home. Very sad to see such beautiful old trees knocked down from the high wind and rain.

After reading John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods diatribe against Health Care Reform I was outraged. Angry at myself for supporting his business by spending my hard earned dollars at his store and outraged that a CEO of a chain of “health” food stores could care so little about the health of those less fortune than he.
I hope you will read the article which can be found by clicking here and after reading it, I hope you drop Mr Mackey a note to tell him you will be joining the boycott of Whole Foods.

Who could have imagined that I’d be sitting here writing about “The Birther” mania. I didn’t fully understand the complexity or absurdity of the Obama birther conspiracy theory until I heard Jon Stewart’s parody yesterday . It was hilarious …. John Stewart at his best and well worth a look.
Chris Matthews interviewed G. Gordon Libby yesterday regarding the Obama birther uproar. Yes that’s the same G. Gordon Libby from Nixon and Watergate fame and misfortune. The interview was as funny as Stewart’s schtick. Libby sounds like a bumbling stumbling fool as Chris Matthews drills him with facts and documents supporting Barack Obama’s birth in Hawaii. I found the interview funny not because of the exchange between Matthews and Libby. Neither Matthews nor Libby is particularly funny. It was funny because of the absurd reality that people like Lou Dobbs, Chris Matthews, John McCain and John Stewart are even discussing an Obama Birther theory.
People, People we have real news to cover. The facts on this one are clear and those pushing the theory look utterly silly. Let go of The Birther thing it doesn’t deserve another news cycle.

Carrie Prejean Book Deal: “Still Standing” Due Out In November
Carrie Prejean, former Miss California landed a book deal with Regnery Publishing. According to her publisher, Ms Prejean will tell enquiring minds why she “really” lost her crown and why she gave her now famous response to Perez Hilton’s question on gay marriage.
Hoping to sell more books, Ms Prejean is also taking a page from the former beauty queen turned politician Sarah Palin. In the book Prejean claims she lost her crown due to those evil liberals and their double standards against conservative woman.
I know I won’t be buying Ms Prejean’s book. I’m tired of worn out beauty queens and I’m tired of conservatives blaming all their woes on liberal bias. Whether she’s a liberal or a conservative, Carrie Prejean modeled nude and she got caught. She was dethroned for her offence as called for in the pagent rules. There’s no bias in that so please stop whining and please stop blaming your troubles on others.

Mark Sanford: Cheating SC Gov Says God Will Make Him Better
In what seems like a never ending string of pleas for forgiveness, SC Gov Sanford wrote a piece for the Op/Ed section of yesterday’s paper . In it he says that “God will make him better.”
Governor Sanford, I have no doubt God will make you better. I also have no doubt that God will forgive you of your sins and help you to see the errors of your way.
Does your confession make you more fit to govern the state of South Carolina? NO. Mr Sanford, in my opinion you’re still a liar and a cheat . A man who may have stolen state money to finance his extramarital affair with his Argentine Soul Mate. You have diverted attention and resources from the job your state elected you to do and you’ve wasted precious capital on a subject not on the state’s agenda but on your personal agenda. The people of the State of South Carolina deserve better and in my opinion so does your wife Jenny.

I remember the Apollo 11 Moon Landing like it was yesterday. It was dinner time and our whole family was sitting in the living room eating burgers while we watched the moon walk on our giant size black and white TV.
United as a nation towards a common goal, space exploration captivated a nation and the world. Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong become instant heros the world over.
The world could use more heros like Aldrin and Armstrong. View this clip and let it bring out the hero in you.

Sure, Rahm Emanuel is a free spirit. He’s a firecracker.
The guy exudes the kind of energy which I suppose can make some people uncomfortable. I’d like to go on the record saying I find Emanuel’s energy and passion refreshing. His antics are engaging and the more I see Rahm Emanuel in action the more confident I feel that he will serve both his country and his President well. Today The NYT ran the following piece on Rahm Emanuel. It’s a good read.
